Amboy Community Thanksgiving dinner changes location — Champaign Community news

The Amboy Community Thanksgiving Dinner is moving for 2026. The dinner, formerly held at Teen Turf in Amboy, will now take place at the Amboy Community Building, 280 W. Wasson Road, in Amboy. The free meal is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 21, starting at noon. The meal includes turkey, ham and all the traditional Thanksgiving fixings. The program includes a devotional prayer and musical entertainment by New Vocal Blend. The change of location was necessary to accommodate larger crowds, according to organizer Eileen Piper. “By having it at the community building, we can get more people in there, and it’s easier for people to get in and out of that location,” Piper said. Piper said volunteers are needed for setup and cleanup, bringing a dish to pass and for kitchen duties. Donations of food will also be accepted through Monday, Nov. 16. Donations can be dropped off at Teen Turf in Amboy. For more information or to volunteer or donate food, call Piper at 815-857-4800.
